Obituary

 East Providence - Scott W. Oxx, 62, of East Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2023, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence on August 31, 1961, he was the son of the late Harry Hamilton Oxx and Doris Elizabeth (Chase) Oxx. Scott, known for his friendly demeanor, generous spirit, and selfless personality, will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Scott was the beloved brother of Victoria Lavimodiere of Warwick, Doris Moniz of Pawtucket, Louise Calma of Newport, Beatrice Climacosa of New Jersey, Hope Oxx of East Providence, Mildred Vaughan of Scituate, Rosemary Oxx of Kentucky, and his twin, Steven Oxx of Johnston. He was predeceased by his siblings Virginia Cardiff, Grace Berania, Evelyn Ostrowsky, Harry Oxx Jr., Hugh Oxx, William Oxx, and Thomas Oxx. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, who will remember him fondly.

Scott was a great man with so much love to give. He never said no to anyone, who needed him. Scott meant more to his family than he ever understood. His bond with each of us was unique. Scott touched so many lives. Everyone we have met had nothing but nice things to say.

Scott was a dedicated employee of Corrigan Movers for more than 20 years. He loved his job and took great pride in his work, relishing the opportunity to meet new people and positively impact their lives during a move. His colleagues will remember him as a hardworking and dedicated team member who always brought a positive energy to the workplace.

Beyond his professional life, Scott had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He was an excellent pool player, a passion he shared with friends and family during many memorable gatherings. He loved dancing and roller-skating, activities that showcased his zest for life and infectious spirit. Scott also had a deep affection for his cat, Troubles, who was a constant companion and source of comfort.

Scott was an avid fan of Elvis Presley, collecting CDs and DVDs of the "King." His love for music was a defining part of his personality, often filling his home with the iconic sounds of his favorite artist. He also enjoyed shopping for his apartment, turning it into a haven that reflected his unique style and personality.

Known as the "Hi guy," Scott had a remarkable ability to remember everyone's name, a testament to his genuine interest in others and his warm, welcoming nature. His love for going out to eat reflected his appreciation for good food and good company, often combining the two for unforgettable meals with friends and family.

Scott W. Oxx was a man of many talents and passions, but above all, he will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering positivity. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.
