Robert " Bob" Silva Obituary

Swansea- Robert D. "Bob" Silva, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024, at Crestwood Nursing Home in Warren, Rhode Island. Born on July 16, 1938, in Providence, Rhode Island, Bob was a man known for his loving nature, friendly demeanor, and handy skills that benefited everyone around him.

Bob's life journey began as the beloved son of the late Arthur R. and Violet (Amadio) Silva. He grew up to meet and marry the love of his life, Linda L. (Mottram) Silva, and together they shared a beautiful marriage of over 38 years. The love they cultivated within their family continued to flourish as they saw their children grow and their family expand. Bob was the proud father of Adam Silva of Warwick, and from his first marriage the proud father of Eric Silva and his wife Karen of Oak Hills, California and Patricia Rowan of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He also held a special place in his heart for his siblings, including his sister Violet Amaral of Cumberland, and he fondly remembered his late brother, Arthur Silva.

Bob's legacy extended to his adored grandchildren, John and his wife Lakin, Victoria and her husband Matt, Anthony and his wife Holly, Jerilyn, Samantha, and Randy. His joy was multiplied with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Jacie, Levi, Owen, Ryker, and Maddox. Bob's caring spirit will also live on through the many nieces, nephews, and cousins who survive him.

Professionally, Bob was respected and well-liked as an autobody technician. His meticulous craft was his signature for over 50 years at Seekonk Auto Body, where he dedicated his skills until retirement. His work was not just a job but a testament to his attention to detail and his ability to turn the damaged into the beautiful once again.

Beyond his professional life, Bob was a pillar in the Swansea community, where he resided for over 60 years after moving from Seekonk. His passion for life was evident in the simple joys he found in working in his yard, tending to his pond, and caring for the wild animals that visited his home. He created a haven where nature could flourish, and his family and friends could gather.

Bob's love for entertainment was shared with all who knew him through the "Silva Cinema" at his home, where many movies were enjoyed, and memories were made. He and his wife Linda's zest for life took them on adventures, including their favorite destination, Las Vegas, where they danced and reveled in the city's vibrant energy. Bob's signature greeting, "Hey Fella," will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by those who looked forward to his warm and welcoming presence.

Bob Silva's life was one of devotion to his family, service to his community, and a commitment to bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He will be remembered as a man who lived life fully, loved deeply, and left a lasting impact on the hearts of many.

As we bid farewell to Bob, we celebrate a life well-lived, and a man greatly loved. His stories will be told, his kindness will be emulated, and his memory will be cherished forever. Bob's journey through life was a testament to the enduring power of love, the strength of family, and the value of friendship. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy of love and friendship will continue to inspire us all.
