Seekonk - Richard L. Pinelle,84, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2023, at the RI Hospital in Providence. Born in Providence on September 1, 1938, Richard was the son of the late Emile and Lucie (LaBrie) Pinelle. He was a loving, kind, and thoughtful man, deeply respected and adored by all who knew him.
Richard was the dedicated husband to Lynda (Petersen) Pinelle for over 63 years. Their enduring love story was an inspiration to their family and friends. Richard also leaves behind his children, Dennis Pinelle, Paul Pinelle of Charlton, Ma, and Susan Landry and her husband Keith of Rehoboth, MA. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Brian and his wife Sara, Ben, Paul, and Michelle and a cherished great-grandfather to Charlotte, Bradley, Fletcher, and Theo.
Richard is survived by his siblings, Edward Pinelle of Nashua, NH, Joseph Pinelle of West Valley, Utah, and Paul Pinelle and his wife, Diane, of Vero Beach, Florida. He was predeceased by his siblings, Gilbert Pinelle, Doris Baran, and Lillian Tucker. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, who will miss his warm smile and generous spirit.
Richard was a proud graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1968. His education laid the foundation for a successful career as a chemist and later as the General Manager of Mann Industries, where he worked for many years. Richard was also a proud US Army Veteran, having served his country during the Vietnam Era.
A longtime resident of Seekonk since 1983, Richard was an active participant in his community. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Seekonk and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Vincent De Paul Society, where he served as a past president. His commitment to service was a testament to his generous spirit and his belief in the power of community.
Richard had a passion for traveling and had the pleasure of visiting all 50 states and numerous countries overseas. He loved planning these trips, meticulously researching each destination to ensure that he and his family would make the most of their time together. His love for exploration and discovery was infectious, creating memories that his family will treasure forever.
In every aspect of his life, Richard exemplified the qualities of kindness and thoughtfulness. He had a unique ability to make those around him feel loved and valued. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Richard L. Pinelle's life was a testament to the power of love, the importance of family, and the value of community. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, August 10,2023 at 9:00am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 984, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Wednesday August 9,2023 from 4:00pm-7:00pm and Thursday from 9:00am – 10:30am at the funeral home.
