Raoul Medeiros Obituary

EAST PROVIDENCE – Raoul Medeiros, 72, of East Providence and Sebastian, FL, formerly of Seekonk, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a valiant battle with glioblastoma on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at home. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Nofi) Medeiros, to whom he was wed on May 6, 2001.

Born in Providence, RI on August 10, 1950, he was a loving son of the late Manuel J. Medeiros and Johanna J. (Roies) Medeiros.

Raoul grew up in East Providence and was a 1969 graduate of East Providence High School.

Raoul began his forty plus year career in the automotive industry with the former Lorber Cadillac in East Providence, starting in the parts department and working his way up to manager. He went on to work at Lum Oldsmobile, which eventually became Cerrone Oldsmobile. His career there spanned over twenty-five years, at which time he moved to Paul Masse Chevrolet from where he would retire in 2017.

An easy going individual with a great sense of humor, Raoul was the life of the party known as the king of one liners. His home was the scene of multiple parties and family get-togethers, a virtual revolving door of guests. He loved music but his favorites were The Doors, The Beatles and 50’s and 60’s tunes. Not surprisingly, he loved cars and was the proud owner of a 100 Year Edition Corvette which he drove to Florida. Above all else, the times held most dear to him were those spent in the company of his adoring family.

In addition to being survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Elizabeth, he was the devoted father of Wendy Medeiros of Rehoboth, MA; Tracy Medeiros of Smithfield, RI; and Megan Medeiros, Esq. of Stoughton, MA. He was the cherished grandfather of Glenn Souza of Warwick, RI; Miranda Rabelo of Rehoboth, MA; Madison Medeiros of Rehoboth, MA; and the great-grandfather of Lucas and Jackson Rabelo. He was the dear brother of: Joanna Barlow of Texas; Urban Medeiros or Fall River, MA; David Medeiros of East Providence, RI; Carolyn Burgess of Riverside, RI; Edwina Gonsalves of Rumford, RI; and Edward G. Medeiros, Sr. Of Seekonk, MA.

He was the brother of the late Judith Neary, Claudia Shilo, Lucien Medeiros, and Eileen Medeiros.
