East Providence - Patricia I. (Souza) Drolet, 70, a loving mother, doting grandmother, cherished sister, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2023, at the Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. Born on January 14, 1953, in Providence, RI, Patricia was a beacon of kindness and selflessness who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Patricia was the daughter of the late Everett and Bessie (Medbury) Souza. She was the former wife of the late Normand Drolet. Her family was her pride and joy. She was the devoted mother of Melissa Beauregard of Nebraska and a cherished sister of Everett Souza of Johnston, Russell Souza of Cranston, Judith Tilley of Pawtucket, and Joyce Souza of Cumberland. Patricia was also a proud grandmother to Devin, Bruno, Harley, Layla, and Josiah, and the great-grandmother to Annaleise. Her memory will continue to live on through her many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.

An alumna of Arthur Angelo's School of Cosmetology and Hair Design, Patricia graduated in the class of 1981. Her passion for care and service led her to a fulfilling career at the Meeting Street School, where she worked diligently with student transportation. Her dedication to her work was a testament to her commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Beyond her professional life, Patricia was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross. Her spirit of giving and helping others was evident in her tireless efforts to support those in need. She believed in the power of community service and was a steadfast advocate for the welfare of others, embodying the essence of altruism.

Patricia's interests were simple and heartwarming. She loved reading and found great joy in spending time at home with family and friends. She had a special affinity for her "Saturday Sisters Night," a cherished tradition where she spent quality time with her sisters. Her love for these moments reflected her deep-rooted value for family bonds and togetherness.

Described by those who knew her as loving, kind, and selfless, Patricia's legacy is one of love, compassion, and generosity. Her radiant smile and nurturing spirit were a source of comfort and joy to those around her. Her unwavering kindness, boundless love, and ceaseless dedication to her family and community are attributes that will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of those she left behind.

Patricia A. (Souza) Drolet's life was a testament to the power of love, the importance of family, and the value of service to others. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
