Norma A (Rebello) Rocha

Riverside - Norma A. (Rebello) Rocha,88, of Riverside, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI, on October 30, 2023. Born in Providence, RI, on January 3, 1935, to the late Charles P. and Ada (Wilbur) Rebello, Norma was a loving and kind soul whose faith-filled life brought joy and comfort to all who knew her.

Norma was the beloved wife of the late Silvino J. Rocha, with whom she shared many cherished years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to Joseph Rocha and his wife Jen (Fiore) Rocha of Seekonk, MA, and Lisa Weinberg and her husband Carl Weinberg of Cranston. Norma adored her role as a grandmother to Devin Weinberg, Evan Weinberg, Jack Rocha, and Giuliana Rocha, cherishing every moment spent in their company.

Preceded in death by her brother and sisters, Charles P. Rebello, Jr., Arlene Sommers, Madeline Olson, Edith Walker, and Marjorie Gemma. Their bond was a testament to the importance of family in Norma's life, a value she instilled in her own children and grandchildren.

Norma dedicated many years of her life to a fulfilling career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, where she combined her natural kindness and compassion with her professional skills to provide care and comfort to her patients. Her commitment to her work mirrored her commitment to her faith, and she spent many hours attending church retreats, nurturing her spiritual life.

Norma was a woman of many passions. She had a love for reading that kept her mind sharp and her imagination vibrant. Her love for cooking and entertaining brought family and friends together at her table, where laughter, stories, and memories were shared. Norma found peace and satisfaction in her garden, her hands nurturing the plants as she did the people in her life. She was a graceful dancer, especially when waltzing, and her joy in movement was a delight to behold.

Riding her bike, Norma embraced the beauty of the natural world around her. She was particularly fond of flowers, their beauty reflecting her own inner grace. But above all, Norma was a family-oriented woman. She made every effort to spend as much time as possible with her loved ones, cherishing each moment as a precious gift.

Norma A. (Rebello) Rocha will be remembered as a loving, kind, and faith-filled woman. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts and lives of those she touched. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains a beacon of light and love, guiding and inspiring those who were blessed to know her.

Her funeral will be held on Friday November 3,2023 at 8:00am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.
