Obituary
East Providence – Maria Anjos (Alves) Gaspar, 94, of East Providence, passed away on Friday May 12,2023 at Waterview Villa Nursing Home in East Providence.
She was the wife of the late Rafael Gaspar.
Maria was born in Vila De Fe, Portugal the daughter of the late Francisco Alves and Maria Do Ceu Santos.
She had worked in the housekeeping department for RI Hospital for over 18 years, before retiring.
Mrs. Gaspar was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Providence, she also enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her children Antonio Gaspar of the Villages, Florida and Maria Lurdes Ferreira of Clermont, Florida.
She was the grandmother of John Ferreira, Paul Ferriera, Michael Gaspar, and Julie DeFruscio. She also leaves one great grandson Aiden Ferreira.
Maria was the sister of the late Palmira Santos and Maria Estela Alves.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday May 15, 2023, at 10:00am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street, Providence.
Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Monday MORNING from 9:00am–9:45am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street, Providence.
