Maria Odelia (Mourato) Garcia

Cranston – Maria O. (Mourato) Garcia, 85, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday May 23, 2023, at Kent Hospital, in Warwick.

She was the wife of Antonio A. Garcia; they have been married for over 59 years.

Maria was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal the daughter of the late Manuel and Malvina (Silva) Mourato.

She was a homemaker, and has lived in Cranston for 12 years, previously living in Providence and the Azores.

She enjoyed travelling to Portugal.

Besides her husband, Maria is survived by her children Eduardo Garcia of Cranston, Carlos Garcia of Warwick, Mike Garcia of Cranston, Pedro Garcia of Providence, Delia Medeiros of Seekonk, Theresa Pavao of Cranston, Ana Garcia of West Warwick.

Maria is the sister of Manuel Mourato of Fall River, Ma., Jimmy Mourato of Fall River, Ma., Eduardo Mourato of Canada, Teresa of Barrington, and Malvina of Portugal.

She was the grandmother of 22, and the great grandmother of 9. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Friday May 26, 2023, at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street, Providence.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.
