Maria V. (Vieira) Carreira

East Providence – Maria V. (Vieira) Carreira, 100, of East Providence, passed away on Monday November 28, 2022, in Rhode Island Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Jose Carreira.

Maria was born in Casais dos Vales, Portugal, the daughter of the late Jose Vieira and Maria (Costa) Vieira.

She was a homemaker and has been an East Providence resident for over 50 years, coming from Providence and previously Portugal.

Mrs. Carreira was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jose Carreira of Seekonk, MA., Armando Carreira of East Providence, Maria Costa of East Providence, Idalina Carreira of East Providence, and Carminda Carreira of Rehoboth.

She was the grandmother of 10 and the great grandmother of 17.

Maria was predeceased by her brothers and sisters.

Her funeral will be held Friday, December 2,2022 at 930 am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am, in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street , Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Friday from 9:30am – 11:00am, in the funeral home.

Burial will be private.
