Mae Mills Obituary

Mae Anna (Magan) Mills, known affectionately to all as Mae, passed away peacefully at Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, on Monday February 26, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on May 28, 1936, in Somerset, Massachusetts, Mae was the cherished daughter of the late Jesse and Mabel (Veader) Magan. She was the devoted wife of the late Frank Mills, Sr., and in her later years found companionship and joy with her longtime companion, Frank Silva.

Mae's life was one marked by unwavering love and dedication to her family. She was a loving mother to her children: Frank Mills Jr. and his wife Margaret of Enfield, CT; Kenneth Mills of Pawtucket; David Mills and his wife Elia of Clarksville, VA; Diane Raposa of Riverside; and Carol Giacobbi and her husband Philip of North Providence, RI. Mae's legacy continues through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever treasure the memories and the love she bestowed upon them. Her family extended beyond her immediate relatives, as she was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who held her dear. Mae was predeceased by her siblings: Jesse Jr., Henry, George, Manuel, Raymond, Robert, Eleanor, and Geraldine.

Professionally, Mae was a dedicated stock clerk, having worked for the former Building 19 stores for over 12 years. Her work ethic and friendly demeanor made her a beloved figure among her colleagues and customers alike. Mae's spirit of service and community was evident in her involvement and the joy she brought to the Rumford Towers bingo games, where she was not just a participant but a pillar of the community. Mae's interests and hobbies painted a picture of a woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was incredibly creative, often found immersed in arts and crafts, and loved to challenge her mind with word search books. An ardent fan of television game shows, Mae could often be found cheering on contestants from the comfort of her living room. Her passion for the Boston Red Sox was unmatched, and she rarely missed a chance to watch her beloved team play.

Those who knew Mae would describe her as a loving, friendly, and creative soul. Her warm smile and engaging personality made her a friend to many. Mae's kindness extended beyond her family and friends as she touched the lives of everyone she met with her generosity and compassionate spirit.

Mae's life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of family. She nurtured a home filled with laughter, creativity, and support, and she instilled in her children and grandchildren the values of kindness, resilience, and joy. Her unwavering presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.

As we bid farewell to Mae, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of cherished moments, enduring love, and countless memories that will be held close by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Mae's journey on earth may have come to a close, but her legacy of love and warmth will continue to shine brightly like a guiding star for generations to come.
