Obituary

Kenneth Chauncey Greene, or Kenny as he was known to many, was a man who knew how to live life in the fast lane, both literally and metaphorically. Born in Providence, RI on January 3, 1958, Ken was a proud life-long Seekonk resident. On July 31, 2023, Kenny decided to take his final pit stop at the ripe age of 65, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. He was probably just tired of all the potholes.

Kenny was the son of the late Marmaduke and Hazel (Ferreira) Greene, who we're pretty sure gave him his love for big trucks and bigger laughs. He was a loving father to Kenneth C. Greene Jr., who resides in Naples, Florida, and Misty Taksey and her husband Christopher of Greenacres, Florida. He was a proud grandpa to Cameron and Kaiya Rego, who were undoubtedly the apple of his eye.  Ken was also the brother of the late George Greene and James Ferreira, and the brother-in-law to Tina Greene of Connecticut and Helen Ferreira of Seekonk, MA. He is also survived by five nieces and nephews, who will miss his signature corny jokes.

Kenny was a long-haul truck driver for the Teamsters for many years. He was a man who loved the open road and the camaraderie of his fellow drivers.  He loved watching NASCAR and going to Seekonk Speedway. An avid patron of the American Legion Post 311 Seekonk, Kenny loved being around people, especially his grandchildren, who he often regaled with stories of his adventures.

Kenny was a man who was as loving as he was hilarious. He had a heart as big as his laugh and a sense of humor that could lighten any room. He was selfless, always putting others before himself and making sure everyone was having as good a time as he was. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back and the last dollar in his pocket.

So here's to Kenny, a man who lived life in the fast lane, loved with all his heart, and made us all laugh along the way. He may have left us too soon, but his spirit, his laughter, and his love will forever be remembered. And the next time you find yourself on the open road, remember Kenny, and try to enjoy the journey as much as he did. After all, life isn't just about the destination, it's about how many memories you make along the way.
