Jose A. Rocha

Jose A. Rocha,87, of East Providence , passed away peacefully at his home on September 13, 2023. He was born on December 18, 1935, in Sao Miguel, Azores, to the late Luis and Maria Rosa (Amaral) Rocha. Known for his faith-filled life and handy skills.

Jose was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Maria A. (Arruda) Rocha, for over 55 years. Together, they built a loving home and raised four wonderful children, Sergio Rocha, Rosa Maria Rocha, Cristina Rocha, and Ana Isabel Rocha, all of East Providence. Jose's love for his family was evident in every action he took, and his children will forever remember him as a guiding light in their lives.

In addition to his immediate family, Jose leaves behind his brother, Noah Amaral Rocha of East Providence, and sister, Rosa Pimental of New Bedford. He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss him. He is preceded in death by his siblings Fernando Rocha, Jaime Rocha, Jermias Rocha, Maria Jose Machaud, and Conceicao Rocha.

Jose served as a custodian for many years at the Victory Plating Company, demonstrating hard work and commitment in every task he undertook. He took pride in his work, ensuring that his environment was always clean and well-maintained. He moved to East Providence in 1975 from Sao Miguel and quickly became an integral part of the community.

A man of faith, Jose was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. His faith was not just an aspect of his life, but it was his way of life. He lived his belief, inspiring others with his unwavering devotion.

Jose's handy skills were admired by many. Whether it was a broken appliance or a home repair, he could always be relied upon to fix it.

Jose A. Rocha's life was a testament to the virtues of faith, love, and hard work. His legacy will continue to live on through the lives of the many people he touched. His memory will forever be carried in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. His passing leaves a void in our community that will never be filled, but his life serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for all of us.

Rest in peace, Jose A. Rocha. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

His funeral will be held on Monday September 18, 2023, at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street, Providence.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery ,550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are on Sunday, September 17,2023 from 1:00pm- 4:00pm.
