John C. Lincoln,55, of Providence a cherished soul known for his loving nature and kind spirit, passed away on Wednesday , December 20, 2023, at Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. Born on June 25, 1968, in Somerset, MA, John spent his formative years in East Providence before making Providence his home in 1982. He was a beacon of joy and an interesting character to all who knew him.
John's life was rich with relationships and interests that brought him and those around him much happiness. He was the former husband of Arlett Huayta of Cranston, and together they shared many fond memories. A beloved son, he was born to Gloria (Cummings) Lincoln of East Providence and the late John R. Lincoln, whose legacy he carried with grace and strength. John embraced his role as a stepfather wholeheartedly, providing love and guidance to Brandon Vargas and Iris Vargas, both of Cranston.
His siblings held a special place in his life. John was the brother of Jeff Lincoln of Ocala, Florida; Wayne Lincoln and his wife Melissa of East Providence; Rhonda Lincoln of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Diana Lincoln of Providence. His nephew Michael Lincoln, along with his family, and many other nieces and nephews, will remember John's playful spirit and heartfelt advice.
John had a zest for life that was infectious. His love for Elvis’s music was a testament to his appreciation for the classics, and he could often be found playing pool, where his competitive yet friendly nature shone through. His favorite sayings, "Bada-Bing Bada-Boom" and "Peace Out," were catchphrases that encapsulated his approach to life: with enthusiasm and a calm, collected demeanor.
Those who knew John would agree that the words loving, kind, and interesting barely scratch the surface of describing him. His ability to light up a room with his presence and leave a positive impact on those he interacted with was unparalleled. John's legacy is one of love, kindness, and the ability to make life an interesting journey for himself and for others.
John's departure is deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. As we say goodbye, we are reminded of the joy he brought into our lives and the lessons of love and kindness he imparted. John C. Lincoln will be eternally remembered and dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who cherished him.
In honoring John's memory, we reflect upon the moments that brought us together, the laughter that filled our gatherings, and the wise words he shared with us.
