Obituary
East Providence - Joao F. Silva, 73, passed away on Thursday March 9,2023 at home. He was the husband of Maria (Costa) Silva.
Mr. Silva was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal the son of the late Manuel Moniz da Silva and Maria Dos Anjos Silva.
He was a custodian for the East Providence School Department for over 10 years.
Joao has been a East Providence resident for over 49 years coming from the Azores. He was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church, and a member of the Phillips Street Hall.
Besides his wife he is survived by his brother Carols Silva of East Providence, his sister Filomena Aguiar of Rumford, and many nieces and nephews,
Joao was the brother of the late Jose Moniz Silva.
His funeral will be held on Monday, March 13 ,2023 at 8:00am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence.
Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.
