Riverside – Herman C. Ladeira , 92, of Riverside, passed away on Tuesday, January 24,2023 at St. Clare Home in Newport. He was the husband of the late Carol ( LaBrie) Ladeira, , who passed away on Wednesday January 25, 2023 at St Clare Home in Newport also, they were married for over 67 years.
He was born in East Providence, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Alexander) Ladeira
Herman had worked for Texas Instruments for many years, before retiring. He was also a Special Police officer for the City of East Providence in the 1970’s.
Mr. Ladeira was a US Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War, while in the service , he received a Korean Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal, with 2 Overseas Bars.
Herman enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and watching the NY Giants Football team.
He was a member of the Braga Club of East Providence.
Herman is survived by his children Lori Cardullo of Riverside, Donna Panzarella of Washington, DC., and Steven Ladeira of Rehoboth, MA.
He was the grandfather of 6 and the great grandfather of 6.
Mr. Ladeira was the brother of the late Joseph, Manuel, Mary “Eva”, Alfred “Freddie”, Gertrude, Hilda, and Agnes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for both Herman and Carol on Saturday January 28, 2023 at 10:00am in Sacred Heart Church, 118 Taunton Avenue, East Providence.
Burial with Military Honors for Herman, and committal prayers for Carol will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
