Gail Everett Obituary

Gail Ann (George) Everett, 83, passed away after an illness at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI on February 18, 2024, with her beloved children by her side.

A lifelong resident of Seekonk, MA, Gail was born on June 16th, 1940.  She was the daughter of the late John Lewis George and Agnes Elizabeth Spinard.  She was born into a large, tightly knit family and grew up alongside her three brothers, Lewis George, John Lewis "Butch" George, Jr., and Edward "Eddie" Thomas George, and two sisters, Dolores M George and Margaret Bertha George, and amongst countless other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

At East Providence High School, she met the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Francis Everett, a man to whom she would devote the rest of her life.  Inseparable from high school, they married on February 18, 1961, and spent barely a day apart over the next 54 years until Dick preceded her in death in 2015. Together they raised, and are survived by, their son, Brian Keith Everett and his wife Debbie (Kelly) Everett of Seekonk, and their two daughters, Lisa Ann Sheehan and her husband Billy Sheehan of Attleboro, and Tracey Ann Smith and her husband Jason Smith of Mansfield.

Gail was a woman always surrounded by family, but blossomed with the birth of her first grandchildren who promptly gave her the title "Meme."   She could not have been prouder to be the grandmother of Kelly Pye and her husband Jonathan of Dartmouth, Katherine Boggs and her husband Christopher of Riverside, and Holly Everett and her husband Dan Jaikes of Seekonk; Nick Sheehan and his wife Ashley of Attleboro, Ryan Sheehan and his fiancee Courtney of Attleboro, and Evan Sheehan of Attleboro; and Emily and Owen Smith, both of Mansfield.  She was also blessed to be the great-grandmother of Emma, Ellie, and Will Sheehan; Max, Norah, and Kenny Pye; and her newest joy, Hazel Boggs.  She was adored by her many nieces and nephews and loved each of them.

It is no coincidence that she slipped away on the morning of her 63rd wedding anniversary to reunite with Dick so that they could continue the love affair for which we are all so grateful.

In addition to raising her family, Gail enjoyed her career at the Seekonk Bowling Lanes, Star Wheels Roller Rink, and, later, the Fantasyland Entertainment Center in Seekonk.  Along with Dick, she was an avid bowler, and the keeper of the "luck of the Meme" which helped her win more than a few lottery prizes, and, when coupled with her prodigious vocabulary and problem-solving skills, to be a renowned puzzler and online gamer. She possessed an unmatched ability to solve a riddle, do a crossword puzzle, or win a tough battle with her friends on Facebook.

Her family will remember Meme fondly and hope everyone who knew her will as well.  We celebrate her life and her legacy and hope we can live up to it.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours, which will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 4:00pm - 7:00pm in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME ,901 Broadway, East Providence, RI.,
