Pawtucket -Ester (Felix) Tenreiro, 85, a beacon of loving kindness and selfless devotion, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2024, at Hope Hospice in Providence, RI. Born on October 13, 1938, in Pawtucket, RI, Ester's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the deep love she shared with those around her.
Ester was the cherished wife of the late Antonio O. Tenreiro, and together they built a life filled with joy and compassion. She was the beloved daughter of the late Joaquim and Gilberta (Almeida) Felix, whose values and traditions she carried forward with grace and dignity. Ester's legacy continues through her devoted son, Antonio J. Tenreiro and his wife Amy of Seekonk, MA, and she was the mother of the late John Tenreiro. The proud grandmother of Nathaniel, Joshua, and Zachary Tarantino. Her great-grandson Luca Tarantino and Abigail, James and Collin Tenreiro.
Ester's professional life was marked by her caring nature as she served as the Unit Secretary in the Heart Health department of Memorial Hospital for many years. Her colleagues and patients alike remember her for her gentle demeanor and her ability to bring comfort and calm to even the most stressful of situations.
A woman of profound faith, Ester was a dedicated parishioner of St. Anthony Church in Pawtucket. Her commitment to her community was further exemplified through her active involvement in the Portuguese Club in Pawtucket, where she fostered friendships and celebrated her rich cultural heritage.
As we bid farewell to Ester, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and the countless memories she has left behind. Her ability to touch the lives of others with her compassion and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. Ester (Felix) Tenreiro's story is one of love, service, and the quiet strength that lies in selflessness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 10:00am in St. Anthony Church,32 Lawn Avenue, Pawtucket.
Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, 661 Prospect Street, Pawtucket.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
