Ernesto Mota Amaral

Mr. Ernesto Mota Amaral 83 of East Providence passed away Monday, April 3, 2023 at Evergreen Health Care Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Olga (Sousa) Amaral for 58 years.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal on February 15, 1940 he was the son of the late Jose Xavier and Elvira Conceicao (Mota) Amaral.

Mr. Amaral worked for Redwood Nursery as a Landscaper for many years. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed playing cards, loved his coffee, and spending time with his family at home.

Besides his wife he leaves 4 devoted daughters, Elsa Amaral of East Providence, Elisarda Amaral (Giberto) of Ontario, Canada, Telma Ventriglia (James) of Cranston, Monica Twardowski (Robert) of Johnston, 4  dear Sons, Ernesto J. Amaral (Ana) of East Providence, Ricardo Amaral (Francelina) of Seekonk, Massachusetts, Jose Amaral (Paula) of Rumford, Mario Amaral (Sandy) of Taunton, Massachusetts, 1 Sister, Ines Silva of Ontario, Canada, 11 Grandchildren, Sefra, Matthew, Nicolette, Natasha, Briana, Nathaniel, Joshua, Stephanie, Lucas, Gillian, Robby, 1 great Grandson due in July, and his dotting dog Armani. Mr. Amaral was the father of the late, Victor Amaral.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 8:30 am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Saint Francis Xavier Church, N. Carpenter Street.

Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Wampanoag Trail, Riverside.

Calling Hours will be held Monday, April 10, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Funeral Home.
