Emilia (Vaz) Goyette

Emilia (Vaz) Goyette, 98, passed on Saturday June 18,2022 at her home in Pawtucket.

She was the daughter of the late Marciano and Agueda (Santos)Vaz.

Mother of Karen Goyette Pounds and Lee Goyette. Grandmother of 5 and great grandmother of 3. Sister of Dolores Vaz.

She was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Emilia was a retired Teacher for the Dighton – Rehoboth Regional High School, Emily was one of the first graduates from a unique program at URI for Women from the World War II era, who were not able to attend college due to the war efforts.

Emily was a member of the American Volk sporting Association, and Walk N Mass, Emily completed a 10Km walk in each of the 50 States. Shew belonged to the Linus group at St. Barnabas Church making quilts for sick children.

She had been a CASA Volunteer.

Her funeral will be held Saturday June 25,2022 at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Teresa Church ,358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket.

Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, 661 Prospect Street, Pawtucket, RI.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are on Friday June 24, 2022, from 4:00-7:00pm.
