Elma Antonia Ferreira Braz

East Providence -   Elma A. Ferreira Braz, 43, of East Providence, passed away on Monday April 3, 2023, at RI Hospital.

She was born in Angola, Africa the daughter of Ana Ferreira (Loureiro) Braz and the late Damiao Braz.

Elma was a Certified Nursing Assistant, serving in private duty for many years.

She has lived in East Providence since 1990 coming from Angola.

Elma enjoyed travelling, reading her bible, and talking to people about the bible, Elma believed in forgiveness and was a very strong believer in the word of God. She loved to help people, and was ‘the life of the party”, she lit up the room when she entered it.

Elma loved children and singing with them, she loved her children unconditionally.

Elma was famously known for her hugs and smiles, which will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Besides her mother she is survived by her sons Rafael Ximenes of East Providence, and Isaac Braz of   East Providence.

She was the sister of Sandra Braz Foster of Florida, Tania Braz Morgado of East Providence, Adilson Braz of East Providence, Pedro Braz of Washington D.C., Dinamene Braz of Brockton, and Sandro Braz of Angola.

Elma is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 9:30am in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Friday from 4:00pm – 7:00pm, in the funeral home.
