Dorothy Elizabeth (Phillips) Martin

East Providence – Dorothy E. (Phillips) Martin, 99, of East Providence, passed away on Tuesday September 27,2022 at the Linn Health Care Center.

She was the wife of the later Raymond J. Martin.

She was born in Providence, the daughter of the late John J. and Mary (Soares) Phillips.

Dorothy was a bookkeeper for the East Bay Community Action Program, for over 25 years, before retiring at age 85.

She enjoyed reading, traveling, playing bingo, music, dancing and laughing.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her daughter Joan Ledo and her husband Manny of North Providence, her brother Lt. Gen. John Phillips of Satellite Beach, Florida.

She was the grandmother of Kayla Monte of Swansea, MA.

Mrs. Martin was the aunt of Pilar and Ian.

She was the great grandmother of Abigail and Sophia Monte.

Dorothy was the mother of the late Scott Martin and the sister of the late Florence Dias.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday, September29,2022 at 10:30am in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME,901 Broadway, East Providence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Thursday morning from 9:00am -10:30am.
