Dolores Marie (Moniz) Costa

Bristol – Dolores M. (Moniz) Costa, 91 of Bristol, passed away on Saturday April 29,2023 at Hope Hospice in Providence.

She was the wife of the late C. Richard Costa.

Dolores was born in East Providence the daughter of the late John J.  and Celia (Rebello) Moniz.

Dolores was a homemaker, she has been a Bristol summer  resident  since 1960, before becoming a full time resident there, she also lived in Barrington  and mostly in East Providence.

She was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church

She enjoyed reading, travelling, dancing, music, roller-skating, spending time at the beach and boating.

She is survived by her children Steven Costa and his wife Nancy of Bristol, Jill Scherma and her husband David of Seekonk.

Mrs. Costa was the mother of the late Keith Costa.

She was the grandmother of Keri,Colby,Garrett,Ross,Carsten,Iris,Kaitlin,Allegra,Audra,Haley,Brynne,and Richard.

Also, she was the great grandmother of 10, and the great great grandmother of 1.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dolores was the sister of the late John J. Moniz, Arthur Moniz, James Moniz, Edward Moniz, and Elsie Parquette.

Her funeral will be held Thursday May 4, 2023, at 830am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial  at 10:00am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag  Trail, East Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4:00pm-7:00pm.
