David R. Pesola, 60, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, December 31, 2023. Born on December 20, 1963, in Providence, David's life was a testament to his loyalty, generous heart, and thoughtful nature.
David is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Sheila Sullivan, and was a devoted father to his children: Michael Pesola, a respected member of the Providence Police Department; of East Providence, Eric Pesola, who proudly serves in the U.S. Marine Corps; of Virginia Beach, VA, and Lynn Pesola, a devoted registered nurse; of Warwick. He was the beloved son of Raymond Pesola of Barrington, RI, of the late Joan (Farley) Pesola and his late sister Janice Lynn. His sisters, Sandy Sullivan and Karen Craven, both of Barrington, will fondly remember their brother's unwavering support and love. David's legacy will continue to live on through his countless lifelong friends.
David's academic achievements were marked by the attainment of his bachelor’s degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology which served as a foundation for his impressive career. For over 40 years he dedicated himself to the J.L. Marshall Company, where he excelled as a Construction Superintendent.
Along with Sheila and their beloved dogs, David spent his final years on his farm in Brooklyn, Connecticut. Sheila always knew where to find David: in his barn tinkering, on his tractor in the back field or in a tree stand watching wildlife. His passion for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. David found solace and joy in the embrace of nature. His ability to build and fix anything was legendary among his friends and family, a skill he applied with love to every project he undertook.
David’s strength of character was unmatched. His generosity knew no bounds, whether he was sharing his time, resources, or knowledge. David approached life with a thoughtfulness that endeared him to all, always considering the needs and feelings of others before his own.
As we remember David, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by a profound love for his family, a dedication to his work, and an unwavering commitment to his passions. His legacy of kindness, strength, and integrity will continue to guide and inspire us. David's absence will be deeply felt, but the memories he created with each of us will remain a comforting and enduring presence.
David R. Pesola's life was a beautiful journey that touched many hearts. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a man who lived with purpose, loved with all his heart, and left an indelible mark on the world. Rest in peace, David, knowing that your spirit will continue to live on through the lives of those you have touched.
