Charles Richard Roderick

Warwick – Charles R. Roderick, 75, of Warwick, passed away on Friday August 5, 2022 at Hope Hospice, surrounded by his family.

He was the husband of the late Mary M. (Braga) Roderick.

Charles was born in Providence the son of the late Walter A. and Minnie M. (Arkins) Roderick. He grew up in East Providence.

Mr. Roderick was an engineer for Raytheon (in Newport) and Lockheed Martin (in Syracuse, NY), among others, for a total of 40 years, before he retired.

He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He graduated from the prestigious engineering program at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME. He has lived in Warwick since 1991 coming from Wickford, RI.

Charles enjoyed playing tennis, traveling, watching science fiction movies, and reading. He was an avid skier. He was a member of the Bahá'í Faith.

Mr. Roderick is survived by his step children Masoud Shadravan of Wakefield, MA, Heideh Shadravan of Warwick, Roeshan Shadravan of Encinitas, CA.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law Helen Lilly of Warwick, a niece Elizabeth Lilly of Warwick, a nephew Richard Lilly of Loudon, NH, great nephew Gavin Lilly of Warwick.

Charles was the grandfather of Christian Shadravan and Nashan Shadravan.

Mr. Roderick is also survived by his dear friend Zhanna Firer of Providence.

His funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 12:00 noon in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI.

Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Tuesday from 11:00am – 12:00pm at the funeral home.
