Barbara DeCastro Obituary

 

Barbara H. (Enos) DeCastro, 85, of East Providence, R.I., passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.

Born August 23, 1936, in Rehoboth, MA. She was the daughter of the late August and Hazel (Richmond) Enos.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Colonel Anthony DeCastro, retired East Providence Police Chief.

She was a Parishioner of Saint Martha’s Church in East Providence, R.I. She was an avid Red Sox fan and knew every player and always said she could coach better than any of the Red Sox managers. She was always enthusiastic and extremely happy going to see her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids playing all the sports and activities they participated. Going out to eat, spending time with her family and keeping in constant touch with friends and family was her passion. She was an extremely giving person and participated in various charities by always giving and never saying no. She never forgot anyone’s birthday and was always sending cards for every occasion and holiday along with gifts to her entire family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by all.

She leaves her 3 sons, Stephen A. DeCastro and his wife Patricia Eno of Seekonk, MA, Scott J. DeCastro and his companion Susanne Costa of Exeter, RI, and Gregory P. DeCastro and his wife Pamela of East Providence, RI; Six grandchildren Jennifer, Andrew, Douglas, Courtney, Amy, and Cody; and seven great grandchildren, Jaianna, Steven Jr., Hannah, Wilfred, Grayson, Colin, and Grayson.

Her Funeral will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 8:30 am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, R.I., to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Saint Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Ave, East Providence, R.I.,

Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Wampanoag Trail, Riverside, R.I.

Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at the Funeral Home.

The DeCastro family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Miriam Hospital and Hattie Ide Chafee Nursing Home for their kind and sincere support.
