Armanda Dutra Obituary

Pawtucket - Armanda Fatima (Oliveira) Dutra,88, a deeply loved homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2023, at Hope Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island. Born on June 3, 1935, in Faial, Azores, she was the cherished wife of the late Jose Dutra and the devoted daughter of the late Silvino Ataide Oliveira and Luisa Adelaide (da Rosa) Oliveira.

Armanda was a beacon of faith, love, and selflessness, whose life's work was centered around her family. Her culinary skills were legendary within the family, and she took great pleasure in preparing meals for her loved ones. She believed that food was a language of love, and her dishes were a testament to that belief. Her home was a haven of warmth and affection, as she poured her heart into making sure her family was well cared for and loved.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her children, Jose Victor Oliveira Dutra and his wife Karla, Maria Lurdes Oliveira Dutra, Armanda Maria Dutra, and Helia Maria Dutra Massa. She was predeceased by her daughter, Louisa da Graca Oliveira Dutra. Armanda was a loving sister to Jose da Rosa Oliveira, Silvino Ataide Oliveira, Antonio Avelino Oliveria, Alvaro Ataide Oliveira, Maria Silvina de Oliveira, and Leovegilda Ataide Oliveira Luis.

Armanda's role as a grandmother was one she embraced with joy and pride. Her grandchildren Vanda Sofia Dutra Cabral Furtado, Alexandre Jorge Dutra Massa, Sergio Titi Dutra Massa, Joana Rita Dutra Cabral, Joao Pedro Dutra Cabral, and Jeremy Dutra, were the recipients of her boundless love and affection. Her great-grandchildren, Gregory Allen Cabral Glidden and Zion Dutra, were the sunshine of her later years. Many nieces and nephews also survive her, who will remember her fondly.

Armanda's life was marked by a deep faith that guided her actions and sustained her through life's challenges. Her faith-filled life was a testament to her belief in the power of love and kindness, and she was a living example of these values to her family and all who knew her. Her selfless nature was evident in every aspect of her life, from her devotion to her family to her willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was a parishioner of St. John Paul II Parish (formerly St. Cecelia’s Church Pawtucket).

She will be remembered for her loving nature, her selfless devotion to her family, her faith-filled life, and her passion for cooking. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and lives of her loved ones.

Armanda Fatima (Olivera) Dutra was a woman of great strength and courage, who faced life's challenges with grace and dignity. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
