Anthony P. Ferreira

Harrisville – Anthony P. Ferreira, age 95, passed away on August 3, 2022, at Landmark Hospital, Woonsocket, RI. Born in East Providence, RI.

He was the son of the late Anthony Ferreira and Mary (Boyle) Ferreira.

He was the husband of the late Emma (Francis) Ferreira. He was the father of the late Robert Ferreira.

Mr. Ferreira is survived by his son Bruce Ferreira and daughter in law Phyllis (Balfour) Ferreira of Pascoag, RI. Granddaughter Jessika Ferreira of North Providence, granddaughter Robyn (Ferreira) Seibel her husband Brandin and their children Owen and Reagan Seibel and daughter in law Kathleen Ferreira of South Dakota.

He is also predeceased by sisters Grace Viera, Edith Nunes and Helen Fontes. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Anthony served in WWII as a Navy Gunners Mate, arming transport ships in Louisiana then in the Pacific as a Link Belt Operator loading and unloading ships.

He worked for the East Providence Water Department for over 28 years.

After retiring Tony and Emma moved to Port Orange, Florida. When Emma passed away, Tony moved back to RI to be near his son Bruce. He resided for a time in Ashton Court in Harrisville, RI, before moving to Bayberry Commons Nursing Center in Pascoag, RI.

After retiring Tony and Emma enjoyed traveling. They went on cruises and trips to Europe and Bermuda.

He built a vacation home in East Matunuck for his family to enjoy. His greatest enjoyment came from his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held Saturday August 13,2022 at 11:00am in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence.

Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence, RI.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are SATURDAY MORNING from 10:00 -11:00am.
