Chink Perry, age 92, of Martello Street, East Providence, died February 14, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Barbara (Andrews) Perry. Born in Cape Verde Islands, he was a son of the late Antonio and Maria (da Luz) Pereira.

Chink proudly served his country with the US Army during WWII. He had retired as a pipefitter from Electric Boat. He was an accomplished artist, composed and played his own music on his keyboard and classical music on his guitar. He enjoyed his dogs Mugsey and Rosco, liked boxing and enjoyed scary movies.

Chink was well versed in many things and loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of 30 years, he is survived by his twin daughters, Lydia Santiago of Taunton, Lisa Levy of FL, his stepchildren; Lorna Vaughn of OH, Nelson Baptiste of Falmouth, Melissa Baptiste of OH, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alda Fike, Armando Perry, Alberto Pereira and Manuel Pereira.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Monday from 10-12pm, followed by a Funeral Service with Military Honors at the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. Burial will be Private. Please omit flowers, contributions in Chink’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association.
